About the Series

WELCOME to

The Access to Patient Advocates Series

The challenges to receiving the kind of health care we want and deserve are well known.

Less known is what we, as patients and caregivers for elderly, disabled and children, can do to improve our chance of receiving that care.

I am a patient mentor, speaker and author of The SavvyPatient's Toolkit", founder of The Savvy Patient School and host of this Teleseminars series.

I will be hosting guest authors and health care experts. All topics will focus on what you,  either as a patient or caregiver, can do to become more Involved In and Take Control of Your Health Care.

My goals and the goals of my guests are to arm you with the information you need to transform the way you:

  • Think about health care
  • Communicate with your doctor and other health care providers
  • Manage your or another's health care

By providing you with the knowledge, tools & know-how you need to be more successful.

So that you can get the health care you want and deserve and in the process have:

  • Better outcomes
  • Prevent medical errors
  • Gain confidence and peace of mind

I do not provide medical counseling or advice.

My focus is on the steps you take and the processes you use in managing your care and communicating effectively with your healthcare providers.

Patient education topics include:

  • How to choose doctor(s)
  • Medical information management
  • Medication management
  • Chronic illness tracking & management
  • Doctor patient communications
  • Hospital patient education for best information management and care
  • Using diagnostic test & medical procedure results
  • Collecting & using your medical information
  • Helping your provider tie the pieces of your health story together
  • Obtaining timelier and accurate diagnoses
  • Best elderly health care information management tools for medications & overall care
  • And more...
